Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Open Planner LLC wants every student to be able to upload a syllabus, review the extracted dates, and export a calendar. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across Syllabus2Calendar, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs rather than feature requests.

What we have built in

• Keyboard access to the whole planning flow, including the step indicator and the syllabus tab lists, with visible focus styles.
• Text and interface colors chosen to meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against their backgrounds, including the per-course calendar colors.
• Accessible names on icon-only controls, the file upload input, and the calendar month navigation, so screen readers announce what each control does.
• Semantic headings, one main landmark per page, and form fields tied to visible labels.
• Tap targets sized for touch on phones, and layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling.
• Warnings that never rely on color alone — low-confidence items also carry an icon and text.

Known limitations

The side-by-side accuracy review renders your original PDF, so the reading experience inside that document depends on how the file was produced. A scanned syllabus with no text layer cannot be read aloud by a screen reader. If that affects you, paste the syllabus text instead of uploading the file, or contact us and we will help.

How we test

We run automated accessibility checks against the live site at desktop and mobile widths, and we review interactive components by keyboard. Automated testing cannot catch everything, so reports from real users matter to us.

If something on Syllabus2Calendar is hard or impossible to use, email admin@syllabus2calendar.com and tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser you use. We aim to reply within five business days and will tell you what we can fix and when.
