1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Syllabus2Calendar. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will close it and delete the associated data.
2. What the Service Does
Syllabus2Calendar gives you tools to:
- upload a syllabus and review dates our rule-based detector highlights;
- enter and organize your own assignment information;
- generate a semester tracker spreadsheet and download it as an .xlsx file;
- generate calendar (.ics) files where that feature is available to your account.
The service does not interpret, summarize or generate your coursework. You remain responsible for reading your syllabi and for verifying every assignment, due date, exam date, course requirement and exported file. Syllabus2Calendar is an organizational tool and is not an authoritative source for academic deadlines.
3. Academic Disclaimer
Please read this carefully, because it describes real limits of the product:
- The date detector may miss a date entirely.
- It may highlight text that is not actually a deadline (false positives).
- Only dates and assignments you add are included in your tracker.
- Your professors, course pages and institution remain the authoritative source of truth.
- You are responsible for checking syllabus updates and announcements after you build a tracker.
- We do not guarantee any academic outcome, grade or result.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Planner LLC is not responsible for missed or late assignments arising from data-entry errors, syllabus changes, detection gaps, export or import behavior in third-party spreadsheet or calendar apps, or reliance on the service without verifying your information.
4. Your Account
Keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly at admin@syllabus2calendar.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.
5. Your Content
Syllabi and everything else you upload or enter remain yours (or the relevant rights-holder's). We do not claim ownership. You grant Open Planner LLC only the limited, non-exclusive license needed to host, store, process, display back to you, convert and use that content to generate the trackers, spreadsheets and calendar files you request, and to provide support at your request. That license ends when you delete the content, apart from routine backup copies that age out.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you submit, and that your content is not unlawful, infringing, malicious or otherwise prohibited under Section 7. We do not use your content to train artificial-intelligence models.
6. Pricing and Payment
- Free. You can build a semester and download a basic semester tracker spreadsheet at no charge.
- Premium semester unlock — one-time $9.99. Unlocks premium features for one specific semester project, including the aesthetic spreadsheet palettes, the premium styled download and calendar (.ics) export, plus re-downloads for that same semester.
- Referral price — $4.99. Where you qualify under Section 8, the unlock price for one semester is $4.99. Eligibility and price are always determined by our servers at checkout.
This is not a subscription; nothing renews automatically. Premium access applies to the semester project you purchased, not to your whole account. Prices may change on a going-forward basis; a completed purchase is governed by the price shown to you at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe, and applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
7. Refunds
The premium unlock is a digital product delivered immediately after purchase, so refunds are generally limited once premium files or features have been accessed. We will still provide a refund where required by law, and we want to make it right if the product materially fails to work as described — for example if a premium download will not generate.
Email admin@syllabus2calendar.com within 14 days of purchase with your account email and what went wrong, and we will review your request.
8. Referral Program
- The referral discount is a promotional offer, not compensation.
- Self-referrals are not permitted, including referrals to additional accounts you control.
- Fraudulent, duplicate or automated sign-ups may be disqualified, and we may reverse a discount obtained that way.
- A referral qualifies only when a new student actually builds a semester; qualification rules may be changed prospectively.
- Referral benefits have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred or redeemed for cash.
- We may take reasonable steps to prevent abuse, including suspending program participation.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- access accounts, data or files that are not yours, or attempt to bypass authorization controls;
- circumvent paywalls, entitlement checks or usage limits;
- upload malware, or use the service to distribute harmful code;
- upload unlawful, infringing or abusive material;
- commit fraud, including payment fraud, chargeback abuse or impersonating another person;
- scrape, load-test or otherwise automate the service in a way that degrades it for others or circumvents rate limits;
- interfere with the infrastructure, networks or security of the service.
Good-faith security research is welcome. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, report it to admin@syllabus2calendar.com and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it. Please do not access other users' data, degrade the service, or exfiltrate data while testing.
10. Disclaimer
Except where the law does not allow it, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that date detection will be complete or accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Planner LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, missed deadlines, academic consequences, or service interruptions, even if we were advised such damages were possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if we must do so for legal or security reasons, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice so you can download your tracker files.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
Governing law: State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the service, and you and we consent to venue there, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere (including small-claims court where you live).
Before filing anything, please email admin@syllabus2calendar.com so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
15. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Open Planner LLC about the service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
